Direct payments urgent advise

No Ritchie, it’s a really odd set up.
If your son is getting CHC then the health service should be managing the direct payments, not Social Services.

Agreed … back to trying to swim through treacle … for a while ?

I don’t understand ? X

The only thing I can add is the health part my Commentie nurses deal with with the phb officer and the social service deal with the direct payments side of things

The ongoing contradiction … CHC and DPs.

One is the responsibility of the NHS … the other , the LA.

I have never come across a hybrid situation … as previously mentioned.

( PHB … Personal Health Budget ? If so , that treacle is getting thicker ! )

( Commentie nurses … community nurses … similar function to a district nurse … under CHC or part of a Needs Assessment package ? )

The only logical conclusion I can draw as I type is … it was NOT CHC funding that was granted ?

Take that element out and things start to unravel … still murky but … a little clearer.

Is that called continue health card personal health care budget it got set up 2017 and it’s never been reviews they done a plan and she to to me

Thanks Ritchie.

A PHB ?

Full sp on what that means in practice :

What is a personal health budget? - NHS

A Snippet :

What is a personal health budget ?

A personal health budget is an amount of money to support your health and wellbeing needs, which is planned and agreed between you (or someone who represents you), and your local NHS team. It is not new money, but it may mean spending money differently so that you can get the care that you need.

A personal health budget allows you to manage your healthcare and support such as treatments, equipment and personal care, in a way that suits you. It works in a similar way to personal budgets, which allow people to manage and pay for their social care needs.

Can be paid in addition to CHC / NHS Continuing healthcare … the hybrid situation mentioned earlier now disappears !

( Which is somewhat " Odd " as CHC / NHS Continuing Healthcare is supposed to cover ALL costs ??? )

Nor a traditional Direct Payment … a different ball game ( Although employing family members will throw up THAT forest full of hornets’ nests again ! )

Ritchie has provided info that clearly indicates that there is no problem in that respect.

Okay , I’ll now pass the torch on for others with experience of PHBs to take this further.

I can’t help further I’m afraid.

The key issue right now is making sure your son has the care he needs over the Christmas holiday, before they all take a week off!!

Ritchie, I’ve had various family members ill over Christmas, it’s impossible to get anything done, you MUST get them to arrange proper care for your son before Christmas Eve, this must take priority over everything else.
