Hi everyone, I’m new here and I’m a carer for my son. I’ve just moved to a totally new part of the country and finding the lonesome life of a carer, extra lonely. Just be nice to know there are others out there “who know how it is”.

Please tell us more about your son. What is his disability? Physical or cognitive? It might be a neat idea to request a needs assessment. How old is your cared for person now?

If you were getting care from your old area Social Services, did you know that they new authority should continue that care until they have done their own assessments?
