38 Degress Campaign - Pay Carers the minimum wage

Hi

I know it’s all been tried before, but I have started a 38 degrees campaign to get Carers Allowance to be raised in line with the minimum wage. The idea is to get parties to consider it for their manifesto.

It’s grown to over 27,000 signatures in a week, and 38 Degrees have been in touch to say that it is one of the fastest growing campaigns this year (second only to one about animal welfare).

A link to it is here Pay Carers the Minimum Wage | 38 Degrees

Please sign, share, and maybe, just maybe, it will have some effect.

PS I have shared this to the Alzheimer’s Society online forum (as that’s the reason I am a carer) - if you could share on the forums of other support groups that you are part of, that could really help a lot.

Don’t lose sight of the CARERS STRATEGY :

Raising CA ?

What about eligibility ?

Changing the eligibility criteria will benefit more carers … millions … as opposed to merely raising CA … low millions of senior citizens carers for one group … that infamous
overlapping benefit rule … state pension … a benefit ?

( Free public transport / 21 hour rule … both would provide greater benefits … as the figures reveal within both threads.

Even the weekly limit of £ 123 on earnings … provide a realistic taper and … that will benefit many carers still able to juggle work with caring. )

Again , only one piece of the jigsaw puzzle.

Signed!

I’ve signed. It was very easy to do so.

I’ve signed the petition

Carers uk wouldn’t like this because those at the top would have to find a job where they would have to work !!!
