Hi I’m new to this forum. I have had a career in care work in the past. Currently I look after my Dad after he has had a number of strokes over the last 10 years.

Welcome to our forum, I am sure you’re aware but I just wanted to remind you we are currently running a series of online weekly meet ups for carers to get together and chat informally. You can sign up for the Care for a cuppa session here: Online meetups | Carers UK. We run them every Monday afternoon at 3pm for an hour or so. Its a great way to meet other carers.

Is dad claiming Attendance Allowance or PIP?
If he has any mental impairment, are you aware that he may be exempt from Council Tax due to “severe mental impairment”?
Easy to claim, and it can be backdated. Highest amount I’ve heard of is over £8,000!
